Outside my window...it feels like "New England winter" (as George observed earlier of the particular bite in the air).
I am thinking...about Julia and Asher's firstmother, whom we've talked about quite a lot this weekend since it was her birthday.
I am thankful...for these cold, slow winter days.
In the kitchen...bread is rising, oatmeal-and-apple-and-cranberry muffins are baking, and a big pot of chicken stock has a date with my pressure canner.
I am wearing...jeans and a sweater—actual clothes, which would be more impressive if I weren't so late in writing today...
I am creating...a little doll for an online auction you'll be hearing more about next week.
I am going...nowhere at all. It's too cold to walk anywhere today.
I am reading...Buddhism for Mothers.
I am hoping...to get those last few unpacked boxes in our bedroom (where else?) squared away this week.
I am listening to...Julia and Asher talking as they wait for a pretend train to take them somewhere marvellous.
I am looking forward to...getting back into our usual rhythm after a hectic December.
I am learning...to stay still and listen when I want to jump in, and that I learn so much when I remember to do that.
Around the house...things feel a little bare with holiday decorations taken down and packed away for another year.
I am pondering...the addition of two little friends to our home on Thursdays.
A favorite quote for today..."Hatred can never cease by hatred. Hatred can only cease by love. This is an eternal law."
A peek into my day...
