:: Now begins the time of year when I become a bit more coy and secretive about my knitting. No links or detailed descriptions, this week, so as not to let folks in on what they'll be getting from me this year: a cowl, to go with a hat I made the other day, and a pair of slippers for a boy too small to read here.
:: I have several books out from the library at the moment, sitting in a pile on the table. (I should probably return them, shouldn't I, so that someone else can have a chance to read them while I'm otherwise occupied? I don't know why I always end up with so many books all at once at precisely the times when I don't have the time or energy to dive in to a long read...)
:: The latest Taproot arrived on Monday, and I'm almost finished with the recent Brain, Child. If you don't read these magazines, you should. They speak to different parts of me, in very different ways. I have kept up very few magazine subscriptions, because they tend to pile up, but I am always so happy to see a new issue of either in my mailbox.
:: For her birthday, my sister and her girlfriend gave Julia a book so perfect, we already had it. So Julia came with me to run errands on Sunday, and we stopped by the book store to exchange it. She didn't find anything she loved in the picture books, but she was fascinated by these little readers. We got four of the Little Bear ones and we've read each at least a dozen times already.
Joining Ginny at small things, as always...
